Local Events in Bogart

City Council Meeting on July 1, 2019

The Bogart City Council meets in open session on the first Monday of each month, usually in the Historic Agricultural Building. If you'd like to make your voice heard, you are welcome to attend. At the end of each city council session is an opportunity for citizens of Bogart to take the floor and voice any concerns or offer input about current policies and issues.

  • Session was called to order at 7:00 PM
  • Invocation was offered by Pam McNair
  • Minutes: Pam made a motion to accept minutes of the June 2019 meeting as written. Seconded by Janet. Votes: Unanimous
  • Committee Reports: Pam stated that the city Facebook page has reached 300+ folks. She will be posting Bogart facts and info in the future. There are 2 new businesses, which she will stop by in the future. Janet stated that Maggie agreed to let the city take over the crosses from the Historical Society. It will now be overseen by the beautification committee. The sign has been ordered for the Museum, as requested by the Bogart Historical Society.
  • Agenda Items:
    1. GA Power Lighting: John reported about 8 lights at a cost of $672.28 or $392.56 per light. Monthly cost for all 8 lights will be $85.36. One new pole will be needed at Twin Lakes. Brenda made the motion to accept 8 lights at a cost of $672.28 per light, and new pole at Twin Lakes. Seconded by Janet. Votes: Unanimous
    2. Award of bid for Master Streetscapes: Per recommendation of John Stover with Carter & Sloope to deem the bid unresponsive, repackage and re-bid in about one month, to attract more contractors. They will get a tentative schedule to John. Pam made a motion to deem bid unresponsive. Seconded by Janet. Votes: Unanimous
